Argentina Launches Federal Child Protection Program Under Resolution 633/2025

Provinces must submit action plans to unlock resources, pending operational rules from the Family Policies Undersecretariat.

Overview

  • The measure was published in the Boletín Oficial on November 6 and places the program under the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family within the Human Capital Ministry, approved by Secretary Juan Bautista Ordoñez.
  • To access funding, each province must file a Provincial Action Plan detailing concrete measures tailored to local needs, with Organismos Provinciales de Niñez coordinating an intersectoral response.
  • The Subsecretariat of Family Policies will issue a Manual Operativo and complementary norms that set procedures and application criteria, marking an initiation phase before full rollout.
  • The required focus areas include all forms of violence, child sexual abuse and harassment, problematic substance use and gambling, lack of parental care, family strengthening, and deinstitutionalization.
  • Financing will come from existing budget lines for actions to promote and protect child rights within the Human Capital Ministry.
