Overview

  • The Economy Ministry published Resolution 1198/2025 in the Boletín Oficial to start the sale of 90% of the state's stake in the water and sanitation company.
  • At least 51% will go to a strategic operator via a national and international public tender, the remaining state-held shares will be placed on local markets, and 10% stays with employees under the existing program.
  • The Agencia de Transformación de Empresas Públicas will coordinate the process, and the Secretaría de Obras Públicas will prepare the technical and contractual documentation, including the concession, while ensuring service continuity.
  • A public-sector bank must value the stake after the Tribunal de Tasaciones said it cannot complete a timely appraisal; if public bodies cannot do it, external valuers are allowed but barred from the selection stage.
  • The majority sale will be run through the CONTRAT.AR digital procurement platform, and officials say the transfer will not interrupt water and sanitation services.
