Argentina Joins Trump’s Gaza Peace Board as Founding Member

The initiative moves into its second phase, centering on Palestinian technocratic governance under NCAG with support from an international stabilization force.

Overview

  • President Javier Milei publicly accepted an invitation for Argentina to serve as a founding member of the Board of Peace created by President Donald Trump.
  • The White House named initial founding members including Marco Rubio, Tony Blair, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Ajay Banga, Marc Rowan and Robert Gabriel, with more additions expected.
  • Under the plan, the Board will oversee a 15-member National Committee for the Administration of Gaza led by Ali Shaath, tasked with restoring services and managing day-to-day governance.
  • Turkey and Egypt confirmed receipt of invitations to join and said they are evaluating the proposal, while Canada and other capitals were also approached, according to reports.
  • Israel’s prime minister’s office said the Gaza executive structure tied to the Board was not coordinated with Israel and contradicts its policy, as the U.S. also taps Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers to lead a stabilization force and prepares a first formal meeting in Davos.
