Argentina Internship Program Completes Houston Exchange and Adds Mexican Partner

The bi-national initiative has broadened to include Mexico’s Instituto Politécnico Nacional following the latest U.S. immersion and domestic internship cycle.

Overview

  • Seven Argentine engineering graduates from ITBA, UBA, UN Comahue, UN Cuyo and UTN concluded a week-long Houston immersion visiting Amazon, bp, Honeywell, Tenaris and Rice University.
  • Twenty-six students from top U.S. universities and one intern from Mexico wrapped up two-month placements across Chubut, Mendoza, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Campana and Buenos Aires in the ninth domestic edition.
  • Through an agreement with the Mexican Embassy, the program formally extended to Mexico’s Instituto Politécnico Nacional, selecting one student for its inaugural placement.
  • Since its 2015 launch, the two-phase framework has attracted over 2,900 applications and placed 125 international interns in cross-border exchanges.
  • A consortium of nine leading energy, engineering and industrial firms drives immersive training in digital transformation and leadership through university and corporate partnerships.
