Overview

  • Resolution 1254/2025 published in the Boletín Oficial confirms the Parque Eólico Olavarría as the latest admission to the RIGI.
  • GEAR I SA, created by PCR and ArcelorMittal Acindar, will dedicate the energy to Acindar’s Argentine plants with no exports planned.
  • The project includes a 33/132 kV transformer station, a roughly 25 km high‑voltage link to Transba SA, and capacitor bank upgrades including works at Ezeiza.
  • Technical reviews by the Energy Secretariat, CAMMESA and the Central Bank concluded the initiative will not strain the FX market and should turn positive once operating through import substitution.
  • It is the seventh approval out of about 20 RIGI submissions, with the Energy Secretariat set to monitor compliance with investment milestones and the build expected to engage about 1,300 workers and more than 30 local suppliers.
