Argentina Formalizes September Pension Bonus of Up to 70,000 Pesos and a 1.9% Update

The payout reflects a fiscally constrained decision that keeps the bonus unchanged after the President vetoed a larger increase approved by Congress.

Overview

  • Decree 613/2025, signed by Javier Milei, Guillermo Francos and Sandra Pettovello, was published in the Boletín Oficial and orders an automatic, non‑remunerative bonus to be paid in September.
  • Eligible beneficiaries include low‑income SIPA retirees and pensioners, PUAM recipients and qualifying non‑contributory pensions, with the full amount at the minimum and a proportional top‑up above that level so the total does not exceed the minimum plus 70,000 pesos.
  • The 1.9% monthly mobility adjustment based on July CPI lifts the legal minimum to about 320,277.17 pesos, taking the total for minimum beneficiaries to roughly 390,277.17 pesos with the bonus.
  • ANSES released the September payment calendar: minimum pensions are paid from September 8–19 and those above the minimum from September 22–26, with PNC deposits scheduled for September 8–12 by DNI.
  • The bonus remains at 70,000 pesos after a bill to raise it to 110,000 pesos was vetoed, and it is non‑discountable, not computable for other concepts and treated as a single entitlement in pensions with multiple copartícipes.
