Argentina Formalizes Domestic Worker Pay Update as Bonus Becomes Remunerative in January 2026

The change folds the extraordinary payment into the salary base, affecting scales, contributions, payslips, benefits.

Overview

  • Resolution 3/2025 from the CNTCP and the Government confirms that the extraordinary sums paid with November and December 2025 wages become remunerative starting in January 2026.
  • The bonus was paid by weekly hours worked — $6,000 for 0–12 hours, $9,000 for 12–16 hours, and $14,000 for more than 16 hours — and will no longer be issued as a separate item from January.
  • A 1.3% increase was set for December 2025, with updated category scales for that month to be paid in January.
  • January 2026 category values are in force; for example, caseros are set at $3,494.25 per hour and $441,806.54 per month.
  • Employers must register domestic workers in the ARCA system regardless of hours or contract type, add the 1% per‑year seniority supplement, and apply the 30% zona desfavorable where it corresponds.
