Argentina Formalizes August Pay Scales for Domestic Workers

ARCA's publication makes the CNTCP wage updates official and requires employers to use the new hourly and monthly minima when calculating pay.

Overview

  • ARCA published updated official salary scales in mid‑August that homologate the CNTCP paritaria and obligate employers to apply the new values in August payrolls.
  • The paritaria set four staggered increases of 1.8% (April), 1.6% (May), 1.5% (June) and 1.4% (July), and the updated scales include the second 50% installment of a non‑remunerative bonus capped at ARS 20,000 across both payments.
  • New minimum rates are now formalized by category and hours worked, for example general‑task workers earn at least ARS 3,733.72 per hour with withdrawal and ARS 3,996.45 per hour without withdrawal.
  • Ancillary payments were adjusted: antigüedad is set at 1% of the basic salary per year of service and the zona desfavorable supplement rose from 30% to 31% for specified southern provinces.
  • The government has convened a CNTCP review meeting for Friday, August 21 to discuss further changes, but until that session produces a new agreement employers must use the published August scales.
