Argentina Finalizes Four-Day November Weekend as Government Confirms Oct. 13 Is a Working Day

The administration set the holiday shifts to concentrate long weekends that boost domestic tourism.

  • Officials clarified that Monday, October 13 is a normal working day nationwide after the Día del Respeto a la Diversidad Cultural was moved to Friday, October 10 by Resolution 139/2025.
  • A four-day break is scheduled for November 21–24, with Friday, November 21 designated a discretionary non-working day for tourism and Monday, November 24 the transferred Día de la Soberanía Nacional from Thursday, November 20.
  • Under Argentine law, a national holiday requires mandatory rest and double pay if worked, while a non-working day is optional for employers and does not trigger extra remuneration.
  • The remaining national dates for 2025 are Friday, November 21 (non-working with tourism purpose), Monday, November 24 (national holiday), Monday, December 8 (Inmaculada Concepción) and Thursday, December 25 (Navidad).
  • Localities in Buenos Aires province announced additional October days off for patronal or foundation observances, while in Peru only Piura and Moquegua declared October 13–14 non-working and no nationwide days were confirmed for October 16–17.
