Overview
- All CUDs set to expire between January 1 and December 31, 2025 receive an automatic one‑year extension to the same date in 2026 under Resolution 2520/2024.
- Certificates that expired or were due for update in 2022–2024, as well as those already extended in 2024, must be renewed during 2025 by booking with the nearest Evaluating Board under updated criteria that could end eligibility for those who no longer qualify.
- Renewals are free and can be completed online or in person, with jurisdictions such as Buenos Aires City publishing step‑by‑step requirements and operator checks for virtual filings.
- Evaluating Boards may request additional medical studies or reports when submitted documentation is not conclusive.
- A separate rule (Resolution 1653/2024) enables certain holders to obtain a non‑expiring CUD, including people with two prior certificates and a stable profile, those over 60 with five years of stability, or individuals needing permanent life‑preserving equipment.
