Argentina Establishes Single Real-Time Security Data System for Federal Forces

The Criminal Statistics Directorate now holds exclusive control over official security figures.

Overview

  • The measure was formalized today through Resolution 108/2026 in the Official Gazette, signed by Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva.
  • Federal bodies — Policía Federal, Gendarmería, Prefectura Naval and the Airport Security Police — must report operations nationwide in real time.
  • Collection spans seven areas: criminal interventions, emergency and disaster responses, rescue tasks, personnel details, seizures, detainees or releases, and material resources.
  • Reports must include counts of injured or deceased agents on or off duty when linked to force actions, as well as civilians killed by federal forces.
  • Each force will assign a single office to upload and preserve records for at least 20 years, with the Criminal Statistics Directorate as the sole channel, a ban on parallel databases, immediate correction of inconsistencies, and no extra budget outlay.
