Overview

  • The simplified import regime took effect on July 19, allowing consumers nationwide to order up to three units of each approved product per year under a US$3,000 FOB cap.
  • Resolution 286/2025 identifies more than 40 Mercosur tariff–coded items—from televisions and notebooks to coffee makers and microwaves—as eligible for direct-to-consumer online sales.
  • Fuegian manufacturers must register goods under Mercosur Common Nomenclature codes and secure origin accreditation in line with Law 19.640’s special fiscal and customs framework.
  • The channel is limited to personal use by residents of continental Argentina and explicitly prohibits any commercial resale of imported goods.
  • Building on Decree 334/2025, the mechanism is designed to reduce bureaucracy and drive e-commerce growth for Tierra del Fuego manufacturers.
