Argentina Enables Automatic Vehicle Transfers at Lease End

Officials say eliminating the second notarized Form 08 will cut costs for lenders as well as clients.

Overview

  • Argentina’s vehicle registry agency (DNRNPA) issued a disposition that streamlines leasing registrations by removing duplicate steps, signatures and certifications.
  • The rule ends the requirement for a second notary-certified Form 08 to transfer a vehicle when a leasing contract concludes, triggering automatic transfer instead.
  • Under the previous process, banks and leasing firms had to keep handling plates, insurance and fines for assets no longer under their control, adding time and cost.
  • The disposition creates a new single filing, Solicitud Tipo 24-TC, to request both the leasing inscription and a conditional transfer in one form.
  • Leasing Argentina credits a joint effort with the DNRNPA and the national economic team led by Pablo Quirno and Pablo Lavigne, with industry leaders saying the change strengthens competitiveness and access to capital goods.
