Argentina Deregulates Drone Use, Eliminates Permits for Small Drones

Overview

  • ANAC Resolution 550/2025 took effect immediately on August 8, rescinding resolutions 880/2019, 885/2019, 319/2025 and 334/2025.
  • Drones under 25 kilograms in rural areas and those under 250 grams nationwide no longer need state-issued licenses.
  • All instructors and training centers are now authorized to offer courses across every drone category, ending the previous state-sanctioned training monopoly.
  • The new Parts 100–102 framework replaces the old VANT regulations with a system aligned to international norms for efficiency and operational safety.
  • Officials project that the deregulation will accelerate drone adoption in livestock monitoring, crop management, medical and food deliveries, border surveillance.
