Argentina Declares Agricultural Emergency for Ten Buenos Aires Districts After Flooding

Producers now need provincial certificates to unlock tax and credit relief under Law 26.509.

  • Resolution 1450/2025, published by the Ministry of Economy, declares emergency and/or disaster retroactive from May 1 through October 31, 2025.
  • The measure covers agricultural and livestock operations in Hipólito Yrigoyen, General Alvear, General Viamonte, Las Flores, Chivilcoy, Junín, Roque Pérez, General Lamadrid, Chacabuco and Monte.
  • The resolution sets October 31, 2025 as the end of the productive cycle for affected farms and requires a provincial certificate to access benefits.
  • National, official and mixed banks and the tax and customs agency ARCA are instructed to implement fiscal and financial relief, with the Agriculture Secretariat authorized to sign execution agreements.
  • The decision follows a CNEyDA recommendation that validated Buenos Aires’ Decree 2196/2025 after assessments by INTA, SMN, Banco Nación, BCRA, ARCA and major rural organizations.
