La familia Maradona, entre la desolación y el dolor por el escándalo de la jueza Makintach
Se anula el juicio por la muerte de Diego Armando Maradona.

Overview

  • Judges Maximiliano Savarino and Verónica Di Tomasso voided the proceedings on May 29 after Judge Julieta Makintach was recused for appearing in a miniseries about the case.
  • Makintach was suspended for 90 days following revelations that she featured prominently in a documentary tentatively titled ‘Justicia Divina.’
  • The nullified trial had reached its 21st hearing with testimony from over 40 witnesses, including Maradona’s daughters Dalma, Gianinna and Jana.
  • Seven healthcare professionals—among them psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov and neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque—faced charges of negligence in the former footballer’s 2020 home hospitalization.
  • A new tribunal must be formed before the retrial can begin, with the second phase expected to start early next year.
