Argentina Confirms Four-Day November Weekend: Nov. 24 Holiday, Nov. 21 Tourism Day

Distinct labor rules apply to the moved holiday versus the tourism bridge day.

Overview

  • The official calendar sets a four-day break from Friday, Nov. 21, to Monday, Nov. 24, by pairing a transferred national holiday with a tourism non-working day.
  • Monday, Nov. 24, is the moved Día de la Soberanía Nacional; work performed that day requires double pay under Labor Contract Law 20.744, article 181.
  • Friday, Nov. 21, is a tourism-designated non-working day; private employers decide whether to operate, and any work is paid at the ordinary rate per article 182.
  • The Executive exercised its authority under Law 27.399 to set up to three tourism days annually, with the Nov. 21 date being the third and final one for 2025.
  • After this long weekend, only two inamovible holidays remain in 2025: Monday, Dec. 8, and Thursday, Dec. 25.
