Argentina Bans Marclean Cleaning Products Nationwide After ANMAT Probe

A judicial referral triggered findings of unregistered facilities alongside irregular labels.

Overview

  • ANMAT’s Disposición 9018/2025, published in the Official Gazette, immediately prohibits the use, sale, distribution and advertising of all Marclean domisanitary products across Argentina, including online listings.
  • The action followed an alert from the Unidad Fiscal de Mar del Plata, after which ANMAT verified that Marclean S.R.L. and the cited producer Bathan Group S.A. lack the required registrations and authorizations.
  • Product labels listed Bathan Group in Lanús and an RNPUD number on items such as an ultra-concentrated detergent, yet records showed no valid registrations and Bathan Group formally denied making products for Marclean.
  • ANMAT notified provincial and Buenos Aires City health authorities and instructed retailers, distributors and e-commerce platforms to remove the products; consumers are advised not to purchase or use them.
  • The measure is preventive and may be lifted if the responsible parties complete establishment habilitation, register the products and submit the required technical documentation, with administrative follow-ups underway.
