Argentina Authorizes 220 Billion-Peso Treasury Advance for Entre Ríos

Repayment will be deducted automatically from future coparticipation at a rate linked to TAMAR.

Overview

  • Decree 922/2025 was published on December 29 and bears the signatures of President Javier Milei, Chief of Cabinet Manuel Adorni, and Economy Minister Luis Caputo.
  • The advance of up to 220,000 million pesos will be disbursed through the Secretaría de Hacienda and recorded by the Contaduría General as a Tesorería General advance.
  • The province expressly authorized automatic retentions of coparticipation to cancel principal and interest calculated on the Tasa Mayorista de Argentina.
  • The transfer is framed as covering temporary shortfalls for urgent budget commitments and equals under 10% of Entre Ríos’ annual coparticipation receipts reported at 2.6 trillion pesos.
  • The move follows Senate approval of the 2026 Budget with support from allied governors, and comes in a year that included a similar 120,000 million peso advance to Chaco and renewed ATN flows such as 9,500 million pesos to Chubut.
