Argentina Arrests 'Serial Caller' Who Paralyzed Buenos Aires Airports With Fake Bomb Threats

A federal raid in La Falda secured his arrest after experts used IP telephony logs and VPN traces to identify the 20-year-old suspect.

  • Investigators traced IP telephony records, cell-tower data, banking transactions and virtual-wallet payments under a court order from Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1.
  • Police from Buenos Aires City, the Policía de Seguridad Aeroportuaria and the Córdoba Police executed an August 9 raid at his home in La Falda, leading to his detention.
  • He faces formal charges of public intimidation, remains incommunicado in custody and has been placed at the judiciary’s disposal following Minister Bullrich’s pledge to punish offenders.
