Argentina and Mexico Roll Out January Social Benefit Payments With Modest Increases

Officials set modest increases with clear eligibility rules, giving millions fixed payout dates.

  • Argentina’s ANSES applied a 2.47% January increase based on November CPI and confirmed the targeted ARS 70,000 bonus for lower-income beneficiaries.
  • The minimum pension is ARS 349,299.32 and reaches ARS 419,299.32 with the bonus, while those above the cap of ARS 419,299.32 do not receive the extra payment.
  • ANSES payments for minimum pensions run Jan 9–22 by DNI, with higher benefits paid Jan 23–29; PUAM and PNC amounts were updated in line with the increase.
  • Mexico’s Secretaría de Bienestar began the Jan–Feb Pensión Bienestar dispersal on Jan 5, scheduling deposits by first surname letter through Jan 28 via the Banco del Bienestar card.
  • Bienestar amounts for 2026 are set at 6,400 pesos bimonthly for adults 65+, 3,100 for Mujeres Bienestar, 3,300 for Disability and 1,650 for Working Mothers, covering about 18.2 million people with over 99 billion pesos this bimonthly cycle.
