Overview

  • Travelers aged 16 and older can import one new white-goods appliance per calendar year from Chile and Paraguay by completing form OM2153-A on the ARCA microsite and paying up to 65% in import duties.
  • Authorized products include refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, stoves, ovens, air conditioners, dishwashers, water heaters, extractor hoods and heating systems.
  • The personal-import regime operates outside traditional duty-free baggage allowances and applies the general import process to ensure traceability and tax compliance.
  • Separately, companies in the Tierra del Fuego Special Customs Zone can sell 39 preapproved electronics and appliances online with tax exemptions subject to a three-unit annual limit and US$3,000 per-item cap.
  • Officials say the measures streamline customs procedures and uphold long-standing fiscal incentives to bolster domestic manufacturing.
