Overview

  • The first day brought widespread disruption at Aeroparque and Ezeiza, with Aeropuertos Argentina reporting 47 cancellations and 34 reprogrammed flights, Aerolíneas Argentinas saying more than 10,500 of its passengers were affected, and Flybondi citing about 7,000 impacted customers.
  • ATEPSA’s action targets departures by withholding ground clearances and suspending flight‑plan processing during the strike windows, while arrivals continue to be handled.
  • The stoppages run in three-hour blocks through August 30, with the next windows set for August 24, 26, 28 and 30.
  • EANA and the government rejected the measures as impairing an essential service, and a court previously denied ATEPSA’s injunction against ANAC’s essential‑service regulation.
  • Aerolíneas Argentinas alleged nine authorized flights, including two international services, were prevented from departing and filed complaints with EANA and ANAC, as negotiations remain stalled and sector tensions persist.
