Overview
- Restrictions start today with departure halts from 13:00–16:00 and 19:00–22:00, then repeat in set three-hour windows on Aug. 24, 26, 28 and 30.
- During the strike windows, controllers withhold ground clearances and stop receiving or transmitting flight plans, so only departures are curtailed.
- Emergency, medical, humanitarian, state and search-and-rescue flights remain exempt from the measures.
- The government, EANA and ANAC reject the action as affecting an essential service, and a court previously denied ATEPSA’s injunction against ANAC’s rules.
- Airlines report delays and reprogramming nationwide, with LATAM offering no‑fee date or flight changes for affected passengers.
