Argentina Advances State Property Sell-Off as AABE Reclaims Unused University Building

The asset agency is pushing Milei’s monetization plan with December 9 online auctions after a record Palermo sale reset land prices.

Overview

  • AABE’s Resolution 65/2025 set a December 9 virtual auction for a 9,986.79 m2 Police Federal lot in Belgrano with a US$21.3 million base price on SUBAST.AR.
  • The Belgrano site was cleared of heritage restrictions by the National Monuments Commission, Telefónica was notified to relocate two antennas, and police functions are shifting to Barracas with custodianship maintained until full handover.
  • A 15,720 m2 parcel in Retiro now occupied by a Coto hypermarket is listed for sale at a base of about US$11.9 million, with the auction scheduled for December 9 via the AABE platform.
  • Through Resolution 70/2025, AABE removed from assignment a long-vacant building linked to the Universidad Nacional Madres de Plaza de Mayo in Caballito/Balvanera after the university said it did not require the asset, ordering custody and registry steps while its destination is decided.
  • These moves follow AABE’s recent Palermo auction in which developer Consultatio paid US$127 million for a 44,000 m2 site, and they accompany smaller Palermo lot sales set for November 28 with proceeds designated for child and family services.
