Overview

  • Decree 461/2025 formally dissolves Dirección de Vialidad Nacional and transfers its functions to the Agency of Control of Concessions and Public Transport Services within the CNRT
  • Vehicles registered in Buenos Aires with up to three years of patent, new 0 km units and specified technical models are exempted from the annual VTV requirement
  • Drivers must continue to use digital licenses issued through the Mi Argentina app, which carry equal legal validity to physical cards and update automatically every 24 hours
  • All license renewals now require a psychophysical fitness certificate completed at ANSV-approved centers, with results uploaded directly to the national system
  • Age-based renewal intervals set by Decree 196/2025 remain in effect, granting five-year validity for most drivers and shorter periods for those over 65 to boost road safety
