Overview
- The fire ignited at 2:12 p.m. near Highway 20 and Foothill Drive and expanded to roughly 10–15 acres within 30 minutes.
- Ground crews from Cal Fire, Northshore Fire, Lakeport Fire and the Mendocino National Forest are building containment lines through steep grassland.
- Four evacuation zones (LUC-E053, LUC-E059, LUC-E063, LUC-E067) were downgraded from mandatory orders to warnings and displaced residents are using the East Lake Elementary School parking lot as a shelter.
- Steep, dry terrain has slowed containment efforts and continues to put homes and structures uphill of Foothill Drive at risk.
- A firefighter suffered a leg injury at approximately 2:42 p.m. and received on-scene treatment from Lakeport Fire personnel.
