ARD Clears Schedule to Air GermanyNorway Women’s Handball Final

The public broadcaster prioritized live coverage and set brief pauses for quiz formats, which resume from December 15.

Overview

  • On December 14, ARD begins Sportschau from Rotterdam at 17:15 to show the Women’s World Championship final between Germany and Norway, with the 20:00 Tagesschau and Tatort remaining in place.
  • The final broadcast team features reporter Markus Herwig, host Stephanie Müller-Spirra and expert Anna Bitter.
  • On December 12, ARD replaced much of its daytime and early evening lineup with an approximately 11-hour live block of winter sports capped by Germany’s semifinal against France.
  • Regular quiz shows, including Gefragt – Gejagt, Wer weiß denn sowas? and Quizduell, did not air on December 12 due to the live sports window.
  • Across December 13–14, ARD carried extensive World Cup events in disciplines such as biathlon, ski jumping and alpine skiing, with additional streams available on sportschau.de, and announced quiz show returns including Wer weiß denn sowas? on December 15 and a Quizduell 10-year special on December 19.
