Overview
- SMN and CONAGUA expect the front to enter between December 28 and 29 via the northeast, bringing a marked drop in temperatures across much of the country.
- Heavy to intense rainfall is forecast for Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Puebla, Oaxaca, Tabasco and Chiapas, with Tabasco placing a yellow alert for possible flooding from December 29 to 31.
- An intense Norte is projected along the Gulf coast with gusts near 100 km/h in Tamaulipas and Veracruz, extending through the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec.
- Snow or sleet could develop in northern high terrain, particularly in northern Chihuahua, as lows fall to −10 °C in parts of Baja California, Chihuahua and Durango.
- Low‑pressure channels and Pacific moisture are expected to spread showers across the west and center, including the Valley of Mexico, and over the Yucatán Peninsula.
