Overview
- Mexico’s weather service reports the Arctic air mass tied to Cold Front No. 13 still covers much of the country, driving dawn freezes with lows down to -15 to -10 °C in Chihuahua and Durango and subzero readings in other highlands.
- Torrential rain targets in Veracruz and Oaxaca and intense rain in Puebla, Chiapas and Tabasco maintain risks of landslides, river rises and urban flooding, prompting ongoing advisories from SMN, Conagua and Protección Civil.
- An intense Norte persists in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec with gusts of 90–110 km/h and seas of 4–5 m, while 50–70 km/h gusts and 2–3 m waves affect parts of Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
- Authorities note a chance of snow or sleet on the highest peaks, including Pico de Orizaba and Cofre de Perote, and urge caution for slick roads, falling branches and hazards to light infrastructure.
- State officials in Sonora are monitoring a potential Nov. 14–16 winter system that could bring winds over 70 km/h, blowing dust, thunderstorms and possible snow or sleet in elevated areas; separately, Argentina’s SMN issued yellow alerts for storms and strong winds, including the AMBA region.
