Overview

  • The agency’s door-to-door courier regime maintains a US$50 exemption on the first 12 shipments before a 50% duty on excess value and service and storage fees by Correo Argentino
  • Residents face a US$3,000 annual import cap, a 50 kg weight limit, a three-unit maximum per item, a US$400 per-shipment exemption and a 21% VAT on all imports
  • ARCA officially refuted reports that it would block future Shein or Temu purchases or retain packages for failing to notify receipt within 30 days
  • Beginning in August, ARCA will cross-check international e-commerce credit-card transactions against taxpayers’ declared incomes to flag unreported or undervalued imports
  • These measures form part of President Javier Milei’s broader reforms to improve customs transparency, deter fraud and protect state tax revenues
