Overview

• Glenn Rhymes, a food service worker contracted through Aramark, brandished a firearm during a dispute with a patient at the OCC Clinic on Monday morning and was briefly detained by UIC police
• After his release, Rhymes allegedly shot two people at a Chicago residence later that same day, one of whom was another Aramark employee
• The Chicago Police Department has taken over the investigation into the off-campus shooting and is actively searching for the suspect
• UIC public safety issued a precautionary alert for police activity near 1801 West Taylor Street and has tightened security protocols at the OCC Clinic
