• Producers Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford announced the wind-down on August 27 after nearly two decades of operating their Redfern-based company.
• The decision follows fresh momentum for Binge series Mix Tape, which won the SXSW TV Spotlight Audience Award and topped UK streaming in its debut week on BBC iPlayer.
• Founded in 2007, Aquarius remained wholly independent and built a slate of five feature films and eight television series totaling about 50 hours.
• Signature credits include Lion, Wish You Were Here, Berlin Syndrome, Love Me, Savage River, The Unlisted and The Unusual Suspects, with premieres at Sundance, Toronto and Berlin and multiple AACTA and Logie recognitions.
• Fielder and Staniford will manage ongoing rights and pursue separate creative work, with selective joint development to continue on projects such as the feature Paradise.
