Overview

  • The service launched June 19 with APSRTC electric buses operating along the Srivari Dharma Ratham routes run by TTD.
  • The 80 additional daily trips supplement TTD’s 300 services, reducing average wait times from eight minutes to two.
  • Pilgrims can now board APSRTC buses at multiple stops in Tirumala for direct travel to Tirupati without using the main bus stand.
  • The zero-fare service was rolled out after TTD requested measures to tackle private taxi overcharging and improve local transport.
  • APSRTC and TTD officials say the switch to electric vehicles will curb vehicular pollution in the hill town.
