Apple's Vision Pro Preorders Begin, Prices Range Up to $5,222.95
Despite High Price, Demand for the 'Spatial Computer' is High; Netflix, YouTube, Spotify Absent from Dedicated Apps
- Apple's new mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro, is now available for pre-order with prices starting at $3,499 for the 256GB model, and going up to $5,222.95 for a fully loaded 1TB model with all recommended accessories and AppleCare+.
- The Vision Pro, which Apple refers to as a 'spatial computer', features 23 million-pixel Micro-OLED displays, 12 cameras, and both an M2 and a new R1 processor.
- Despite its high price tag, the Vision Pro is already selling out in some locations, with official launch set for February 2nd.
- Apple has partnered with content providers like Disney and Warner Brothers to offer immersive media such as 3D movies on the headset, and Apple TV+ content will also be available.
- However, major streaming services Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify will not have dedicated apps for the Vision Pro, instead they will be accessible only through the built-in Safari browser.
