Apple’s Self Service Repair Program Now Includes iPads

Today’s update lets customers in 33 countries order genuine parts, repair manuals and rental toolkits for current iPad models to extend device lifespan.

Overview

  • Starting May 29, the program covers iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Pro (M4), iPad mini (A17 Pro) and iPad (A16) for DIY fixes.
  • Participants gain access to the same genuine Apple parts, detailed repair guides, Apple Diagnostics sessions and rental toolkits used by Apple Stores and authorized providers.
  • With iPads added, Self Service Repair now supports 65 Apple products across 33 countries in 24 languages.
  • Apple’s Genuine Parts Distributor program lets independent repair shops order official components through third-party distributors such as MobileSentrix and Mobileparts.shop.
  • The expansion underlines Apple’s push to extend product longevity and reduce electronic waste, with a launch in Canada scheduled for this summer.
