Apple’s Self Service Repair program adds iPad support starting May 29

Overview

  • Starting May 29, the program will support iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Pro (M4), iPad mini (A17 Pro) and iPad (A16) with official parts for display, battery, camera and charging port repairs.
  • Customers can order genuine Apple components, repair manuals, Apple Diagnostics sessions, tools and rental toolkits through the Self Service Repair Store.
  • With this expansion, the at-home repair offering now covers 65 Apple products, including the recently released iPhone 16e, MacBook Air and Mac Studio.
  • Apple’s new Genuine Parts Distributor program lets independent repair shops in the US and Europe source official Apple parts via third-party distributors such as MobileSentrix and Mobileparts.shop.
  • The Self Service Repair program, best suited for experienced users, will extend to Canada this summer, bringing the service’s reach to 34 countries.
