Apple's Overhauled MacBook Lineup: M3 Pro and M3 Max Chips in MacBook Pro, 15-inch MacBook Air Launched
The M3 chip efficiency cores are up to 30% faster than the M2 family, with the MacBook Air available in 13.6 and 15.2-inch models and the MacBook Pro in 14.2 and 16.2-inch versions.
- Apple's MacBook lineup was overhauled with the new MacBook Pro arriving with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips to close out 2023 and the 15-inch MacBook Air arriving at WWDC 2023.
- The MacBook Air got a major upgrade in 2022 with M2 chip, an all-new design, a larger 13.6-inch display, a flat-edged chassis, a new midnight color, an upgraded webcam, and much more.
- The M3 chip efficiency cores are up to 30% faster than the M2 family and up to 50% faster than the M1 family. For performance cores, the M3 family is 15 and 30% faster than M2 and M1, respectively.
- The MacBook Air is available in 13.6 and 15.2-inch models. And the MacBook Pro options remain slightly larger with 14.2 and 16.2-inch versions.
- With a starting price of $1,099, the 13” M2 MacBook Air comes in at $500 less than the 14” MacBook Pro. And the 15” MacBook Air is $1,200 less than the 16” MacBook Pro.
