Overview

  • The public beta launched on July 24, opening macOS 26 Tahoe to M1-and-later Macs as well as select Intel models ahead of its full launch this fall.
  • macOS 26 Tahoe is the last operating system to support Intel-based machines, leaving older pre-2020 Intel Macs on macOS 15 Sequoia.
  • The new Liquid Glass design adds translucency and customizable color themes across the dock, sidebars and toolbars for a unified look.
  • A dedicated Phone app syncs recent calls, contacts and live iPhone activities to the Mac while enabling one-click calling and iPhone Mirroring.
  • Spotlight now integrates with Shortcuts and Apple Intelligence for deeper automations, and a Games app with Metal 4 support delivers smoother graphics.
