Apple's iOS 18.2 Enhances Find My App with New Sharing Features

The update allows users to temporarily share the location of lost items with anyone, including airlines, to aid in recovery.

iOS 18.2 introduces a 'Share Item Location' feature in the Find My app, enabling users to create temporary links to share the location of lost items.
These links can be shared with anyone, even those without Apple devices, and are accessible through a web page showing the item's last known location.
The shared link expires after a week or when the item is returned, and users can track how many people have accessed the link.
An additional 'Show Contact Info' option allows users to share their phone number and email, helping finders contact the item's owner.
The update is currently in beta and is expected to be released to the public in December, along with other new features like Genmoji and ChatGPT integration.
