Overview

• Apple's iOS 17.4 update will introduce auto-generated transcripts for podcasts in English, French, German, and Spanish, available in over 170 countries and regions.
• Transcripts will be automatically generated by Apple's software shortly after a new episode is published, with a short delay for processing.
• Users can view a live text version of an episode, with words highlighted as they listen, and can tap anywhere in the transcript to play the episode at that specific spot.
• Podcast creators have the option to upload their own transcripts, but they must meet Apple's quality standards, including no spelling or punctuation errors.
• iOS 17.4, currently in beta, is expected to be released to the public in March.
