Overview

  • More than 25 carriers, including American Airlines, Delta, United, Air Canada, British Airways, Lufthansa, JetBlue and Saudia, now support Find My’s Share Item Location feature for AirTag-equipped baggage.
  • Users running iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 or macOS Sequoia 15.2 and later can create a temporary URL in the Find My app that displays a bag’s real-time position on a web-based map.
  • Participating airlines have integrated the feature into baggage-tracing workflows and require staff to authenticate with an Apple ID or a verified partner email to access shared links securely.
  • Shared tracking links are end-to-end encrypted, expire automatically after seven days or once an item is recovered, and can be revoked at any time by the owner.
  • The feature is designed to speed up recovery for the fewer than 1% of checked bags mishandled each year by giving airline personnel live visibility into delayed or lost luggage.
