Overview
- With iOS 26 launching this fall, users will be able to add U.S. passports to Apple Wallet for TSA checkpoints on domestic flights
- Digital passports stored in Wallet cannot replace physical documents at international border crossings, where travelers must still present their passports
- Boarding passes in Wallet will feature Live Activities flight updates, airport terminal maps for gate and baggage navigation, and Find My integration for AirTag luggage tracking
- The new “Verify with Wallet on the Web” option enables end-to-end encrypted age and identity checks on websites, complementing existing in-app and in-store verification
- Major carriers including Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and others have signed on to support the enhanced boarding pass features
