Overview
- TSA accepts Apple Wallet Digital ID at more than 250 U.S. airports for domestic screening.
- Only U.S. passports are supported at launch, and the passport-based ID works only domestically and does not replace a physical document.
- Setup requires scanning the passport photo page and embedded chip plus live selfie verification, with all data encrypted and kept on the device.
- Apple Wallet driver’s licenses and state IDs are live in 13 states and Puerto Rico, and seven additional states have announced plans to adopt the feature.
- To present an ID, users double-click the Side Button, hold iPhone or Apple Watch to a reader, and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID.
