Overview

  • Liquid Glass brings the first major OS redesign since iOS 7, applying layered translucent elements, rounded controls and Parallax effects across iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS and iPadOS.
  • Apple will adopt year-based versioning for its operating systems, labeling the next releases as iOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26 and iPadOS 26.
  • Built-in translation tools will provide real-time subtitles for video calls and interpret spoken phone conversations directly on users’ devices.
  • Through new APIs, developers can integrate Apple’s AI language models to summarize and reformulate text or generate custom emojis within their apps.
  • Following the June 9 keynote, Apple plans a public beta this summer ahead of a broad fall launch across its ecosystem of devices.
