Apple TV+ to Premiere Series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" Featuring Godzilla Universe and Actors Kurt and Wyatt Russell

"Monarch: Legacy of Monsters," set between 2014's and 2019's Godzilla films, explores the human side of the monster-affected world, featuring a sibling duo uncovering their deceased father's secrets alongside veteran character Lee Shaw, played in a dual role by father-and-son actors Kurt and Wyatt Russell.

  • "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters", an Apple TV+ series, set between 2014's and 2019's Godzilla films, will premiere on November 17. The series features Anna Sawai and Ren Watabe as siblings uncovering their late father's connections to the monster-monitoring organization, Monarch, and Kurt and Wyatt Russell in dual roles as characters Lee Shaw, past and present.
  • The series aims to explore the human side of the monster-affected world, focusing on not only the monsters but also the people learning to live in a world where monsters are real, operating in this 'Legendary MonsterVerse' timeline, from past to future.
  • Aside from the human element, the show promises Titans, both new and old. The premiere episode features a Titan battle between Mother Longlegs and a newly introduced Titan, Mantleclaw. The series also revisits the Titan's catastrophic attack on San Francisco, as portrayed in the 2014 Godzilla film.
  • The series spans multiple timelines and offers a lot of backstory to the characters, especially Shaw, known as Lee, who is played by Kurt and Wyatt Russell depicting older and younger versions of the character. They engage with the 1950s and the present time, bringing an artistic aspect to the story.
  • A cameo by John Goodman, reprising his role from 2017's Kong: Skull Island, adds another layer of continuity to the expansive MonsterVerse. The premiere includes a sequence set in the '70s, revisiting the events from Kong: Skull Island.
