Apple TV+ Picks Up 'Murderbot' Series Starring Alexander Skarsgård

The 10-episode sci-fi series, based on Martha Wells' award-winning novels, will be written, directed, and produced by Chris and Paul Weitz.

Apple TV+ has picked up a new 10-episode sci-fi series, 'Murderbot', based on Martha Wells' award-winning 'The Murderbot Diaries'.
Emmy winner Alexander Skarsgård will star as the lead character and also serve as an executive producer.
The series will be written, directed, and produced by Chris and Paul Weitz, known for their work on 'About a Boy' and 'Mozart in the Jungle'.
'Murderbot' follows a self-hacking security android who must hide its free will while completing a dangerous assignment, despite its desire to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas.
There is currently no information on when the series will premiere on Apple TV+.
