Apple TV+ Extends Exclusive 'Peanuts' Deal Through 2030

The pact broadens work with Peanuts rights holders to include new originals, a feature in production, plus brief free holiday streaming windows.

Overview

  • Apple TV+ signed a five-year extension to remain the exclusive streaming home for Peanuts through 2030 with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.
  • The agreement keeps the classic Peanuts library on the service and greenlights additional original series and specials.
  • An animated feature film starring Snoopy and Charlie Brown is currently in production, following its initial announcement in 2023.
  • Apple will open free streaming windows for non-subscribers in 2025: It’s the Great Pumpkin (Oct. 18–19), A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (Nov. 15–16) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (Dec. 13–14).
  • The announcement aligns with the franchise’s 75th anniversary as some fans criticize the loss of over-the-air broadcasts despite Apple’s limited free access periods.
