Overview
- Only four Intel-based Mac models qualify for macOS Tahoe26 support: the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro, the 2020 iMac and the 2019 Mac Pro.
- Eligible Intel Macs will receive security updates until fall 2028.
- All other Intel Mac models will lose operating system and security updates after macOS Tahoe26 ships in fall 2025.
- Starting with macOS 27 in 2026, Apple will support only Macs using its Apple Silicon processors.
- macOS Tahoe26 debuts Apple’s Liquid Glass design language and underscores Apple’s encouragement for developers to migrate to its in-house chips.
