Overview
- iOS 26.2 enables the feature for EU users, with a developer beta available now and a public beta due before the December rollout.
- Compatible hardware includes AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 with ANC paired with an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running Apple Intelligence and the Translate app.
- Supported languages include English (US and UK), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Italian, Chinese in Simplified and Traditional forms, Japanese and Korean.
- Integration spans Messages, FaceTime and Phone, and if the other person lacks AirPods the iPhone can show live transcription in their language.
- Apple had restricted EU-based accounts from using Live Translation locally, and early tests still note a perceptible delay between speech and playback.
